Top 5 Roadtrip Tips

Being an avid adventure seeker, I am a sucker for advice, tricks and tips to make anything I do in life easier and of course more fun. Roadtrips are like childbirth, done right they can be the adventure of a lifetime. Done wrong, and you're screaming for someones head on a platter demanding to know WHOSE BRILLANT IDEA WAS THIS?!

1. Get the oil changed and check the fluids before you leave.
No one wants to be stuck on the side of the road 5 hours in. That's an adventure I'm willing to skip.

2. Go with someone you love or like. Alot.

3. Take turns driving.
Yes, girls don't be afraid to do some of the driving. Take that wheel.

4. Bring your own music.
Do you remember when you used mixed tapes for everything? Prom mix. Date Night Mix. Ode to My Love for You Mix. A roadtrip is a great excuse to revive the mix. Bring twice as much then you think you'll listen to. Turn it up and sing to the top of your lungs.

5. Get your gas before your on E.
Yeah, lets not risk it. Pushing cars isn't so fun when its 12 am and your in the middle of Nowhereland, USA.

Andre // Senior Session

This cool cat has been one of my good friends since 3rd grade. I cannot believe the time has come to take senior photos, where did the time go? Andre is an amazingly gifted muscian/writer. He is moving to LA this June and meeting with Universal Records next week to start working on his upcoming EP. So inspiring to see my childhood friends chase their dreams with all their heart.

To those who stay put, the world is but an imaginary place. But to the movers, the makers, and the shakers, the world is all around them, an endless invitation.

Ellen Belle // Above the Inversion

Wednesday, January 29, 2014

This beauty contacted me through instagram a while back, and after months of planning I finally sucked up the awkward " I know you on social media, but not in real life." situation. We met for coffee, followed by a photo adventure. 1 hour after being with Ellen, I was sad that so many months went by of me not knowing her. We were kindred spirits. I've realized in the past few months in my life how many times I've missed out on opportunities because of the fear of being uncomfortable. I had a friend say to me, if you are living in the comfortable you will never move forward. You will continue to live in a stagnant, mediocre life. If you want that, there's nothing wrong with that. But I sure don't. My friend continued to say, if you aren't doing something uncomfortable or something that makes you nervous everyday, then what are you doing? What do we really have to lose? Is it because of what others think? Are you afraid of failure? Why do you think Jesus gave us a Comforter? He knew His ways would make us uncomfortable first.

It made me think. It challenged me. So from now on, I will live in the uncomfortable. Not being content with the possible, but living for the impossible.

Great things never came from comfort zones.
